ASSOPRINT SCANNER TOOLS
ASSOPRINT is a technology laboratory whose mission is the development of studies, design and manufacturing of
advanced devices and solutions in the fields of laser, vision and spectroscopy techniques.
As well as producing its standard instruments, ASSOPRINT provides the customers with the most adequate software and hardware
solutions for any specific task, supplying with assistance with the most advanced tools.

3D SCANNER
LASER SCANNING PRINCIPLE
The system is composed by a laser emitter, which produces a stripe structured illumination on the object to be
scanned, and a CCD or CMOS sensor which acquires the images of the lines reflected by the object surface.
A two-dimensional CCD (Charge Coupled Device) array is used to collect the reflected Iight from the profile on
the surface of the target, the reflected light activates the pixels on the array inside the sensor.
The data of a single two dimensionai profile are recorded by the digital CCO and then the 3" dimension
information is determined by triangulation process and stored for each pixel value by the software.
This location along with the known relative positions of the emitter, sensor and measuring distance. are used to reconstruct the
X,Y,Z coordinates of the points along that profile.

Thousands of similar profiles are thus collected along the target forming in this way a profile on the whole surface being scanned.

The main advantage of this technology is that it is a no contact process, and results in coordinate locations that lie directly on the scanned surface giving a fast representation of it and a preview of the following printing process.
The laser's high resolution and thinner beam also permits scanning of highly detailed surfaces where mechanical touch probes may be too large to accomplish the task.

THE HARDWARE
Laser sources and sensors are mounted on ASSOPRlNT laser engraving machines (3D ROLL version)
and on ASSOPRINT flat surface scanner systems (3D FLAT version) to ensure better results and best integration on existing hardware and software.
Target can be a flat or cylindrical object, small or large depending on used mechanical support.
Sensors and light sources are chosen for best performance and for customer requirements.

THE SOFTWARE
The ASSOPRINT 3D software module is a plug-in or stand alone application developcd by ASSOPRINT to acquire with extreme simplicity 3D data distribution of sample. The integration of ASSOPRlNT 3D module with ASSOPRINT laser engraving machines and ASSOPRINT flat scanner represents a great advantage in terms of accuracy and acquisition speed to have a prediction/evaluation of following print process results.
